The Town of Cochrane is sharing stories from the community as another way to help residents feel connected.

Shop Cochrane stories are part of the #CochraneTogether campaign to inspire and share local acts of caring and support. The stories can be found on ShopCochrane.ca and facebook.com/ShopCochrane.

Business Development manager Mike Korman says the goal of Shop Cochrane in general is to connect residents with local businesses. “Local support is more important than ever,” he says. “Since the provincial health order forced all non-essential businesses to close, Cochrane businesses are suffering with the loss of customers and community.”

The first stories posted are about a local woman who did all her shopping locally from isolation, a local porch portrait photographer and a Main Street store delivering candy care packages. More stories are scheduled to be added in the coming days and weeks.

Shop Cochrane includes the ShopCochrane.ca website and a Facebook page where residents and businesses can connect and share updates and information, as well as the stories.

Not all stories are business related, but they all demonstrate how people are adapting and coming together as a community. Business that have adjusted in a unique or creative way — or anyone who has a story of kindness and community togetherness — is invited to connect with the Town at business.development@cochrane.ca.
