Like many other shops on Cochrane’s Historic Main Street, Horse Creek Candy & Gifts is adjusting their business model slightly during these trying times, in hopes of staying afloat. They’ve moved to delivery and curbside pickup to continue serving Cochranites.

The good news is that everyone wants – no, needs! – a sweet treat during quarantine. Horse Creek Candy has put together three Cochrane COVID Candy Care Packages, delivered free to the Cochrane area or to Calgary for a small fee.

Perfect for anyone whose day you want to make a little sweeter, the care packages include a variety of delights including everything from saltwater taffy and fudge to shower bombs and a kids’ activity. Care packages can also be customized from anything in-store, and coming soon: Bunny Boxes for Easter!

Owner Cherie Hill says her favourite part is the creativity involved in putting the care packages together.

“Whether the package is for adults or children, I have just the recipe for goodies that help boost spirits, encourage children to continue with their online schooling, or to find a way to pass the time during the prolonged stay at home,” she said.

Horse Creek Candy is a shop local win-win too. They support local farmers, confectioners, and artisans — every product is either made locally or brought in by a Canadian distributor.
